Which class is right for you?
There is no previous experience needed, or minimum skill level required to enrol. In any given class there may be a wide variety of students' art experience, age and background. As the tuition we give is one on one, students can expect personalised projects and excercises approriate to their individual needs.
Beginners are welcome.
At the Atelier we do not believe that Art is mysterious or cryptic practice, only accessible for an elite or people with 'born talent'. Everyone needs to learn to draw and paint, even a person with natural ability, as all their knowledge and skills are intuitive, without structure or coherence. It is possible for anyone to learn and become fluent with the skills to express themselves in Art. We approach learning in the Visual Arts much like pedagogy in Music where students need to develop their conceptual understanding as well as the ability to practice skills to execute specific practical goals.
We offer a General Curriculum which is a standard education structure that we have developed, based on traditional Fine Art school practices. The classes develop on a logical sequence of excercies and projects. Students are able to transition between classes and stay on the same learning pathway. While all basic visual art principles are universal, each teacher delivers the lesson with their own emphasis, teaching style and techniques.
Enrol by notifying us that you would like to attend, via our online message form or call us. Then come along to one of our scheduled classes.
